ABOUT THIS TOOLKIT
Planning fully accessible meetings and events might seem overwhelming but with proper planning, it
can easily become second nature.

The process begins with an understanding of the legal issues and general barriers that limit or preclude participation by people with disabilities. When properly planned, most barriers to participation can be eliminated without incurring great expense, incurring an administrative burden or compromise the event itself.

This toolkit is intended to provide guidance in planning accessible meetings and events while understanding that new ideas and options for accessibility are constantly emerging as are regulations. It addresses such items as checklists for each phase of the planning process, selection of a venue, registration, meals and more.
