Description:  With the evolution of how the world works, we have long moved on from the 9 to 5 work day, replacing it with just life. This has consequences to our employees wellbeing. This session will focus on the role that employers play in supporting our employees mental wellbeing and the influence that we can have on how the world views, funds and supports mental health. The session will be both presentation and participation, with an ongoing call to action following Disability Matters.

Description:  This session will address the issues and implications of post-secondary education for individuals with disabilities.  Specifically, it will look at the interplay between education and work as well as the important transition from university to career.  Important topics such as internships, work-readiness, reasonable adjustments/accommodations will be addressed.

Description: Learn from award-winning corporate Executives as they share their journey relative to the talent acquisition, management and human resources aspects of disability inclusion.  Sourcing, interviewing and hiring are just some of the topics that will be addressed.  Learnings will include what has worked and/or not worked and why and what is planned for the future from a scalability standpoint.  The session will conclude with an interactive exercise about key learnings, implementation strategies for individual companies and possible roadblocks.

Description: Special needs parents represent approximately 10% of our workforces.  This session which will be led by a special needs dad and leader of Cisco’s Fathers of Children with Special Needs, will examine both the unique challenges and skills of this employee population.  The session will also examine how technology can assist in supporting these families while successfully delivering on business goals and objectives.
