Island of Malta Ratifies UN Convention on Rights of Person w/Disabilities

When someone thinks of #disability and #accessibility, they don’t immediately think of the Mediterranean island of Malta, but perhaps they should.  After learning about all that was accomplished last year for individuals with #disabilities, I would say, 2012 was an amazing year for what is the largest of the three major islands that constitute the Maltese archipelago. Malta ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, established #guardianship laws for parents who have children with #special needs, opened an #adapted driving school, created a publication known as #Access for All, set up a Disability Studies Unit at the University of Malta  and even made one of the major churches fully #accessible.  Do I hear Malta in your vacation plans?
