Disability Figures – Ireland Census

If you live and work in #Ireland you might be interested in the latest disability figures from Ireland’s 2011 #Census. Almost 600,000 people, or 13% of Ireland’s population, have a #disability, of these individuals; only 20% were employed, compared to 50% of the overall population. #Limerickcity had the highest rate of disability at 18.2%, followed by #Cork, #Waterford and #Dublin. Difficulties with pain, breathing or other chronic illness were experienced by 46% of this segment while 41% experienced difficulties with basic physical activities.
