What's in your ADA/ADAAA Toolbox?
A Must Attend Webinar Series hosted by Springboard Consulting, LLC

Kick off the New Year right by filling your ADA/ADAAA Toolbox with the following must-have tools that will help you avoid common pitfalls, ensure ADA compliance and successfully recruit and employ people with disabilities.

Interacting with the Accommodation Process (Thursday, October 20, 2011)
Reasonable Accommodation Before, During and On the Job (Thursday, November 17, 2011)
Planning Accessible Meetings (Thursday, December 15, 2011)

Join Shelley Kaplan, the ADA Services Manager for Springboard Consulting for this three-part webinar series that will educate you and your staff on the ABC's of Reasonable Accommodations. The series schedule is as follows:

October: (National Disability Employment Month)
The ABCs of Reasonable Accommodation: Interacting with the Accommodation Process

Celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month with this content-rich session. Employers need to have procedures in place in order to be prepared for an increase in accommodation requests under the new ADAAA. The focus of this session will be on "best practices" for managing the accommodation process. It will include a discussion of the accommodation "requests", types of accommodations, key forms for documenting the accommodation process and tips for training supervisors.

November:
The ABCs of Reasonable Accommodation: Reasonable Accommodation Before, During and On the Job

The ADA applies to all aspects of employment, including job advertisements, job applications, job interviews, medical inquiries and post-offer medical examinations. Although many of the ADA rules that apply to applicants and new-hires are the same as the rules for employees, there are some differences. This session discusses the differences.

December: (International Day of Persons with Disabilities)
The ABCs of Reasonable Accommodation: Planning Accessible Meetings

Mark the annual observance of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (December 3) by promoting a better understanding of how to plan accessible meetings and training programs that are accessible and meaningful for your participants with disabilities. Accessible meetings are necessary for customer service and as a reasonable accommodation. For these meetings to be successful, everyone involved must have an equal opportunity to participate. This session will include a discussion to include meeting locations, furniture arrangement, meeting communications, etc. Event organizers will find that when these elements are accessible, they serve not only participants with disabilities but also a wide range of others, including maturing workers with age-related disabilities, those with invisible or temporary disabilities and many others.
