Anyone who lives in or around Lakeville, Minnesota probably has seen the new ad campaign of Gillette Children’s Specialty Hospital, known as “Cure Pity”. It features an 11 year old boy who has disabilities, successfully playing sports. The purpose of this campaign is to get people to see kids with disabilities as people with abilities who are capable of anything, to focus on their accomplishments rather than their struggles. Just think…. If we could “get” this concept as it applies to children, just think how it could play out in the adult world of work. I’m all in for curing pity. How about you?
